Rotating lessons are an essential part of the band program. Unlike full band rehearsals, lessons offer the opportunity for smaller group instruction specific to each instrument.
6th Grade Band lessons rotate every 8 school days. The lesson schedule rotates so that lessons occur on different days of the week and periods in the day. Students in band are reponsible for notifying classroom teachers of lessons ahead of time. They are also resonsible for making up any missed work. It is recommended that every student has a homework buddy for each class that is affected by lessons.
In the case of a conflict (test, quiz, LTA, presentation, science lab, etc.), students should not attend the scheduled lesson. Instead, that student is required to make the lesson up. Mr. Abrescia's make-up lesson day is Thursday after school.
